Referral Criteria

No Exceptions (now on-line) is pleased to accept referrals for its new Counselling & Psychotherapy Services from agencies, organisations, businesses, GPs and individuals themselves.

We currently have 4 counsellors, all registered with BACP and/or COSCA, governing bodies that insist upon rigorous codes of ethics including regular supervision, all which ensure continuous quality of service. Our counsellors have a wide skill base and several years of experience. Models of therapy used in counselling will be varied and depend upon the strengths of the individual counsellors.

Below is a list of presenting issues but as you are aware once in therapy, clients often bring additional concerns to counselling and in many cases the therapeutic process focuses on completely different themes. Consequently the list below is not finite.

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Panic attacks
  • Low mood

Due to:

  • Loss – relationship, bereavement, miscarriage, still birth, termination of pregnancy, employment
  • Childbirth trauma
  • Abuse – emotional, physical, sexual, racial
  • Assault – pysical and sexual
  • Rape
  • Ritual and/or satanic abuse
  • Sexuality
  • Gender issues
  • Substance abuse
  • Chronic pain, illnesses
  • Sexual addition

Methods used in therapy can be applied to any subject of concern and we will work with any individual for whom counselling will be helpful.

Should a referral be in a crisis situation, we will ensure it is given priority status, in the interest of best practice.

If you have any specific questions about our referral criteria or with regard to an individual, please contact us directly to discuss.
